Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Galen Rigor wants revenge on the Philadelphia Eagles, the team that drafted him in 2020 and traded him in 2022.
Ahead of the start of the 2022 NFL regular season, the Philadelphia Eagles traded. The team exchanged wide receiver Galen Rigor, their 2020 first-round pick, to the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for a 2023 seventh-round pick and a conditional 2024 fourth-round draft pick. Rigor is known not to train with the Eagles during his first two years in the league.
Coincidentally, the NFL set the Eagles and Vikings to face off in Week Two on Monday Night Football, albeit not knowing that a Rigor deal would happen between the two teams. Before the match, Rigor did not deny that he had some revenge on his mind when playing for his former team.

In the 2020 NFL Draft, the Eagles and Vikings were in the market for a wide receiver, and the separation was remarkably deep. But it was Philadelphia who chose between Regor out of UCLA and Justin Jefferson out of LSU when they were on the clock with pick number 21. The Eagles picked Regor, and the Vikings took Jefferson for the next pick.
Rigor did not come out as the team expected. In his rookie year, Rigor played 11 games, shooting 31 of 54 goals for 396 yards and one touchdown. Last season, Rigor played all 17 games, scoring 33 receptions for 299 yards and one touchdown. Among the shortcomings in 2021, Rigor dropped four of them, As per Pro Football reference.
Now, Rigor is a teammate with Jefferson.
In Minnesota’s season-opening win over the Green Bay Packers, Rigor wasn’t a factor in the passing attack. However, he did return one kick for seven yards. Meanwhile, Jefferson had nine passes for 184 yards and two touchdowns.
The Eagles began their 2022 campaign with a 38-35 victory over the Detroit Lions.
It will be interesting to see Rigor’s performance against the team he traded two years after being drafted into in the first round.
